The School of Humanities and Cultural Studies is housed in the buildings of the former 9th Infantry Regiment, located in the old military camp of Kalamata. These buildings were granted for this purpose by the local municipal authorities. The two traditional buildings, constructed in the late 19th century, were converted into teaching and administrative facilities and equipped with the necessary infrastructure to ensure their proper and safe operation.
The former Command Building of the Kalamata Camp, a neoclassical structure of notable aesthetic value, was fully renovated under the care of the Municipality of Kalamata, with sponsorship from the A.G. Leventis Foundation. The renovation of part of the old "Companies" building within the camp was made possible thanks to the generous donations of Vassilios Konstantakopoulos and Mr. Konstantinos Arnokouros. The restoration of the remaining buildings, known as the old "Lochos," was completed in July 2008 with funding from the Peloponnese Regional Operational Program 2000-2006 (3rd Community Support Framework), co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
